Welcome to the Jersey Shore Association for Human Resources

This Week in JSAHR
November 5, 2019

Dear Friends Colleagues, and Fellow Members of JSAHR,

Thank you all for attending our October meeting Finding, Engaging and Hiring Workers with Disabilities, and a huge shout-out to our very own, Jennifer Meyer Mahoney for curating and moderating this informative and important panel discussion.  Based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback we’ve received, I could see us doing this again at a future meeting.

Don’t Miss Our November Meeting at Monmouth Park

Up next is our bi-annual Legal Update, Hot Issues in Employment Law featuring the team from Jackson-Lewis and led by our First Vice-President Rich Cino.

The meeting is Thursday November 14th, and will begin with networking, breakfast and registration at 7:30am in the Parterre Lounge at the Park.  Rich and his team will discuss topics such as Arbitration Agreements and Confidentiality Provisions, Drug Testing and Medical Marijuana, Managing Workplace Absences and much more. To register click here.

Join the JSAHR in Helping Lunch Break at Thanksgiving

At our November meeting, we are inviting all attendees to please bring canned and non-perishable goods to our meeting at Monmouth Park. Lunch Break is a non-profit organization that helps solve the hunger issues in Monmouth County.  Let’s help those less fortunate have a hot meal at Thanksgiving. Lunch Break of Red Bank is asking us to donate the following items:

Prepared gravy
Canned yams
Boxed mashed potatoes
Cake mix and prepared icing
Jello

If bringing canned goods, please try to bring flip-top cans that don’t need a can opener. Thanks so much and we appreciate your support.

 Announcing our NEW Certification Scholarship!

We are thrilled to announce that our Jersey Shore Chapter has been selected to receive the 2019 SHRM Foundation Certification Scholarship for chapters and state councils. The review process for this scholarship award is typically very competitive, and this year the judges were very impressed with our application.  The scholarship award for the recipient is $750.00 which can help our members get certified at a significantly reduced rate.

A HUGE congratulations and thanks to our Certification Committee Chairs – Carolyn Broderick, & Eveline Brownstein.
