    Presentation

Topic: Re-imagining HR for the Future, Now!

Speaker: Bill Jensen, The Jensen Group

Where are you going in the future and how does that affect you in HR?

With AI (artificial intelligence), machine learning, and deep analytics, how we work will change more in the next 20 years than in the past 2000 years.

Some studies predict that 47% of jobs may disappear over the next 25 years. Yes, optimistically there will be new jobs but they will require new skills.

Will these changes take the “human” out of things? Will people be judged on how much they cost?

The big issue is not job loss but we will be facing a skills crisis. Roughly half of us will require significant re-skilling.

66% of companies expect people to upskill on their own. Companies will have to beef up their own Training and Development to obtain and retain talent.

One of our biggest competitive challenges is competing for stakeholder’s time and attention.

We are all suffering from AD&D.

Less than 10% of people from a recent study conducted with Ultimate Software felt that they can achieve their dreams and goals where they currently work.

Bill shared that engagement has been derived to see how much more work we can get from people. But it’s not engagement that matters most, it’s the opportunity to fulfill Dreams and Goals that drive people.

He shared three key areas to transformation:

    1. Become People-First Business Leaders – address hopes and fears
    2. Become Relationship Designers and Catalysts – address holistic wellbeing
    3. Become People Scientists – tailored personal development

He shared the top 3 priorities that most people want from their work environments are:

    1. Ability to create, control my own destiny
    2. Great people, great teamwork
    3. The opportunity to make a difference.

He stated that the future is based on our personal choices. Bill suggested that we explore our own legacy (the impact we have on people) and ask ourselves - What do I want my legacy to be? What is one word or short phrase that will remind us? My legacy by 2022 is …..

We all have 14,440 minutes in every day. How will you live them?

Next Meeting is our ½ day Legal Seminar presented by Jackson Lewis and held at Monmouth Park (different location).
