    Presentation

Topic: How Safe Are Your Employees? Be Proactive and Protect Your Organization - Active Shooter Training

Speaker: Ed Kirschenbaum, Director of Public Safety – Neptune Police Department

This presentation offered many practical insights on what to do in case of active shooter situation. The goal of the presentation was to share the value of preparation, not paranoia. In short, the goal in any active shooter situation is to create time and distance between the disaster – seconds and inches - to increase changes of survival.

The speaker emphasized the value of preparation – something done in advance in order to be ready for a future event. Even a bad plan is better than no plan.

He also shared a youtube video called Run Hide Fight by ReadyHouston.com that was very helpful.

This was a very informative and important presentation.
