    What’s New in SHRM

    The new head of SHRM, Johnny Taylor, has a new column in USA Today.

    SHRM Annual Conference and Expo is scheduled for June 17 – 20 in Chicago, IL.

    When Work Works Award – SHRM partnered with When Work Works, originally founded by Families and Work Institute in 2003 to help organizations be more successful by transforming the way businesses view and adopt flexible workplace practices.     Legal Seminar: Hot Issues in Employment Law - 2018

    Presented by Jackson Lewis Attorneys:  Richard Cino, Katerina Mantell, David Islinger and Jason Gavejian

    The seminar focused on case law and regulatory developments as well as hot topics impacting every organization.  Some of the topics discussed are noted below. This interactive session provided a wealth of information.

    1.   Medical and Recreational Marijuana and the impact of potential legalization on employers

    2.   The New EEOC strategic plan and its impact on employers

    3.    Data Privacy and the new frontier of potential causes of action and class actions

    4.    The impact of social protests and other issues on the workplace.

    5.    The intersection of various leave laws.
