In this spirit of partnership, and with the goal of long-term maximization of membership benefits and growth for our members, JSAHR is excited to announce that we are fully aligning ourselves with SHRM by implementing the Dual Membership program.
Q: When does the Dual Membership partnership between JSAHR and National SHRM take effect?
April 13, 2026.
It is important to note that since JSAHR membership was previously on a calendar-year basis, EVERYONE who is currently an active member of JSAHR will remain so through December 31, 2026.
Q: How does National SHRM and JSAHR identify me?
Both your National and JSAHR memberships will identify you by your email address. It will be important for you to ensure your email address is the same with both National SHRM and JSAHR.
Q: How will I pay for my membership?
As of April 13, 2026, all members will now pay for their national membership and JSAHR membership in one transaction through National SHRM:

Q: What if my National SHRM and JSAHR membership expire at different times?
If your JSAHR membership expires after your SHRM membership: When you renew your SHRM membership, you will need to pay the full amount for both memberships; you may be offered a pro-rata credit for the JSAHR membership.
If your JSAHR membership expires before your SHRM membership: You may receive an additional invoice to cover the gap. Your following membership renewals will then be at the regular price and your expiration date will be the same for both organizations.
Q: I am already a member of National SHRM. What can JSAHR offer me in addition to my National SHRM membership?
Being a local JSAHR member provides you with an amazing local network and community of HR Professionals. JSAHR offers monthly in-person meetings, webinars, networking events and professional development opportunities. Most of our programs have been approved for SHRM and HRCI certification credits, and we typically host over 15 events throughout the year. Additionally, there are leadership and volunteer opportunities to assist in your professional development and to give back to the HR community.
JSAHR is the official SHRM affiliate (local chapter) for people living, learning and working in Monmouth and Ocean Counties of New Jersey. Here's a chance to collectively connect, collaborate, learn and grow.
Q: Can I belong to more than one local SHRM chapter at a time?
Yes, you can belong to more than one local chapter. However, only your primary chapter receives financial support from SHRM National. Please consider designating JSAHR (240) as your primary when joining or adding JSAHR membership to your existing SHRM membership.
Q: Why should I join National SHRM when JSAHR gives me all I need?
National SHRM membership is now a requirement of having a JSAHR membership. The National SHRM offers HR professionals many resources to save time and money as they strive to stay compliant and create a great workplace for their organizations. SHRM provides an "Ask an Advisor" service that gives personalized advice on your specific HR questions or challenges. SHRM members have access to how-to guides, sample policies, job descriptions and interview questions, and more. SHRM members also get discounts on many professional, personal and travel services, plus HR labor law posters, employee handbook builders, and much more.
Q: Can I continue to be a JSAHR local member only?
You will continue to maintain your membership with JSAHR until the December 31st expiration date of your membership. At that time, you will need to become a dual member by joining National SHRM and JSAHR. Local Only members will receive a complimentary SHRM membership for the remainder of the year and a 50% discount off their first membership year.
