    Both Sides Now: Employer and Employee Perspectives on Transgender Issues in the Workplace

    Speaker: Robyn B. Gigl, Esq.

    During this informative & interactive presentation participants will receive an overview and a practical guide on developing and implementing trans-friendly workplace policies and practices, including those relating to confidentiality, documentation, gender-appropriate restroom access, and more.  Robyn will share insights on how employees and management can work together to achieve trans competency and inclusion at their organizations and to address employee relations issues effectively. She will also share her own personal story and experiences as a trans woman as a means to explore the issues transgender employees face in the workplace.    
    Q & A – Please come prepared to ask questions as this is “safe space” where politically incorrect questions and personal questions are not only permitted, they are encouraged.

    Participants will learn:

    1. Basic cultural competency on what it means to be transgender person; 

    2. An overview of the current state of the law involving gender identity or expression; and

    3. Practical advice on creating and implementing transgender friendly policies in the workplace.
